Cardiff University Lacrosse Club 2009-2010

About

Cardiff University Lacrosse Club is comprised of members of every ability, from beginners through to international players.

The club currently has ladies, mens and mixed teams training and competing weekly. The ladies are in the BUCS Premier South league playing against other top university teams. The mens team are in the BUCS Western Conference, where they reached the semi-final of the BUCS Mens Championship Final this year. The mixed team competes in the Western Mixed Lacrosse League against other universities and clubs in the area. The club is looking to expand their competitive play with view to having another mens and mixed team next season.

Mondays: Ladies fitness, Talybont Sports Hall, 6:15pm

Tuesdays: Mens and Ladies training Talybont Astro, 7:45pm

Thursdays: Mixed, Talybont 3G, 6:15pm

Fridays: Mixed, Talybont Astro, 5:45pm

Llanrumney Pitch Directions:

From the East:
Take Junction 29 off the M4 and travel westward on the A48(M) for approx. 3 miles. Turn off at the Llanederyn junction and take first exit down Southern Way. Take first exit (signposted City Centre) and first exit at roundabout. Follow road up hill (watch out for speed cameras), and go left just before second set of lights (first ones are pedestrian lights). Take left turning for Ball Road, left just in front of the school and follow road around to playing fields.

From the West:
Take Junction 34 off the M4 and take first exit at the top of the slip road. Carry on for a couple of hundred yards and turn right at the lights, just infront of the pub. Follow the road through the lanes for quite a while until Llandaff (just past the BBC). Go through Llandaff and there is a big junction (Western Avenue) where you need to turn left onto the A48. Stay on for about 1 – 2 miles and Llanederyn is the next junction past the Heath Hospital (on your left). Turn off at the Llanederyn junction and take third exit down Southern Way Take first exit (signposted City Centre) and first exit at roundabout. Follow road up hill (watch out for speed cameras), and go left just before fourth set of lights (two are pedestrian lights). Take left turning for Ball Road, left just in front of the school and follow road around to playing fields.

Tour

Every year the Club makes its way to Ireland to play in Dublinfest. This takes place in the Easter break, with everyone who goes coming back with great stories about the days and the nights whilst they were there. A must do – at least once. Visit our Tour discussion in the Forum to find out more.
